RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for SAFE in Harlem teens and youth

  • Liaise with Harlem Village Academies Elementary, Middle & High School for purpose of recruit new teen and youth members 

  • Liaise with 12 sectors to implement Teen-driven ideas

  • Liaise with community stakeholders such as community board 9 & 10, 125th street BID Parks Dept to help move initiatives forward

  • Ensure that goals and objectives, as outlined in the CDC grant, are met. If milestones are not met, document shortfall and work with Director to develop a plan to support growth

  • Travel with teens and Director to Washington, DC for National Youth Leadership Initiative Conference

  • Provide charted data of milestones to evaluator for analysis and reporting to CDC

  • Every two years candidate will Collect 30-day use data from 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th grade students, and deliver raw data to evaluator for analysis

  • Support and participate in weekly staff meetings 

  • Order Supplies for SAFE in Harlem initiatives


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks 

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Knowledge of project management software tools

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines
